When I had something of an inheritance from my Dad in 2016-2017, I donated to the Children’s Trust lawsuit against the U.S. government. I saw in their complaint and lawsuit something of the life lived by one of my students; before the Clean Water Act.˚ In Chicago, while at grad school at UIC, he was an undergrad in one of my lab classes. He was raised in Wisconsin, near Milwaukee. Unbeknownst to him or his mother, the water they were drinking was contaminated with PVCs stirred up by dredging operations. The outcome was horrendous on his body. For the profit of the few, they had destroyed his own body and his ability to have his own children. His mother – as mother’s were in the late 1950’s and early 1960s – blamed herself or the local water department.
If we were to poll students from Milwaukee at UIC during this era, born into middle class and working class families in Milwaukee, I believe we would have found Juliana, et.al VERSUS the United States many-fold more.
You care nothing for your own children, I see them here in West Seattle, walking the streets at 5:00 AM as I leave for the gym, first using drug-laced vape, then smoking dope straight. I can smell “crack cocaine” in the air.
Where are their parents, protecting their lives? Where are you? No where.
You have made yourself very fat and very rich America – and blonde perhaps – like your President. Yet, your inheritance is the children and youth I see outside my window in West Seattle or walking the street. Or are they the ones, killing themselves and each other in record numbers?
So, let you now, at least donate to Our Children’s Trust. Support the case, at least of strangers, you. I have no more inheritance from my father which to donate.
Ms. Kelsey Juliana has debated, and fought in the courts, and waited her entire teenage years, just to be heard, as one President after another has stopped her voice from reaching the courts. I will let you listen to her, and the story of the plaintiffs in this case – your children, America.
˚ The Clean Water Act (CWA) establishes the basic structure for regulating discharges of pollutants into the waters of the United States and regulating quality standards for surface waters. The basis of the CWA was enacted in 1948 and was called the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, but the Act was significantly reorganized and expanded in 1972. “Clean Water Act” became the Act’s common name with amendments in 1972.
We provide the Full Link to Our Children’s Trust (above), but do not try to make their fight ours. It does not belong to us. It belongs to them; your children. We only give you a flavor of it here, so you can make up your own mind if you like and want to support them, like we have, do it. We believe the material is relevant to all and is necessary for your personal judgments. These are my personal views, America, and my values of what is right and true.
Not a lawsuit, not going to the International Court. Valid none the less. Sign the petition!
