This morning The Malizia II and Greta on-board are heading on a South West tack, traveling roughly half the distance they had travelled yesterday. The racing yacht Malizia II is on a starboard reach now, with the wind off her beam. Not so comfortable, but a great cockpit of wind and waves for learning the rudiments of sailing – as Greta most probably is from her fellow crew mates. I cannot wait to read her stories!
As we can see, Greta is weathering it well…NO SEA SICKNESS!
In 24 hours, the Malizia II will have the wind and waves at her back, and the broad reach – generally the fastest point of sail – will commence in a direction roughly towards Ponta Delgado, where the winds are from the North, North East at 16 knots.
