NO POLAR BEARS OFF ALASKA!

AT LEAST WE HAVE THESE CUTE AND CUDDLY WILD ANIMATED ANIMALS! You see, Polar Bears need sea-ice to fish from out in The Bering Sea. No sea-ice. No Polar Bears.

“Status Unknown

“(MEANS NO POLAR BEARS, BUT NOONE WANTS TO ADMIT THAT.)

“The status of the southern Beaufort Sea sub-population of polar bears is declining; the status of the Bering/Chukchi seas sub-population is unknown (SINCE 2014.)  Polar bears are listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) because the sea ice on which they depend for hunting, feeding, reproduction, and seasonal movements is declining.”  – State of Alaska Fish and Wildlife

First.  Look at Alaska.  Most of the sea-ice next to the coast is recently formed (past 7 days) Now, look at the ORANGE MEDIAN LINE.  At this time of year 01DEC, the median is at the ORANGE LINE. The Bering Sea should be full of sea-ice.

What this means.  There is no Polar Bear nor Walrus habitat now existing off the coast of Alaska. Period.   Now you know more than the median value of my former students who have teaching jobs in Physics and should know better 😉
