Some Basics in What To Watch For at Minimum

(1) Look at The Barents Sea and Kara Sea region of the Arctic

Weakening in the Polar Vortex that holds cold Arctic air in check during the Winter months begins here, as theorized, in the Barents Sea and Kara Sea  [(b) shaded in no- surface-ice BLUE and (c) shaded in heat flux RED]

 

(2) In early September, it looked like this… SUPER HOT!!!

(3) Look at the Arctic Air Temperatures as an indicator of heat capacity and long lived-effects…Here’s August readings.  Without marking the region on the chart, I bet you can “find” the HOT Barents and Kara Seas region?
