Wally Shirra – Mecury, Gemini, Apollo

Today we remember one of the greatest Astronaut and Spacemen in the History of humanity – Wally Shirra.  Wally Shirra was one of the flew astronauts to fly on all of the separate space mission that ensured humanity’s quest to reach our own Moon.  He only passed away at age 84  on 2007, of abdominal cancer.

He flew his first mission today on Mercury Sigma 7 above the new Atlas 8 rocket, as yet not fully tested. You will never find a braver civilian or military man the him the annals of Spaceflight, NASA, nor The United States of America.
